Phuket International Airport lies at the northern end of Thailand's largest island. The airport is situated 32 km / 19 miles north of Phuket Town and it is the second busiest airport in Thailand.
The single terminal handles roughly eight million passengers a year, who arrive and depart on 60,000 domestic and international flights a year.
There is a reasonable selection of amenities at Phuket International Airport including restaurants, shops and bureaux de change.

Phuket International Airport has a full complement of helpful staff including porter and security staff. There are two information desks, one situated outside Departures near the entrance/exit and one located outside Arrivals next to the entrance/exit.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets
Despite not being a very large airport, Phuket has a selection of shops and duty-free outlets. There are duty-free outlets at International Departures and International Arrivals, where international passengers can buy duty-free goods such as alcohol, cigarettes, cigars, perfume and jewellery. There are a few other retail outlets scattered throughout the airport selling a variety of goods including newspapers, books, snacks and Thai handicrafts.
Bars, Cafés and Restaurants
The only large restaurant in the airport is the Thai Airways International Restaurant, situated on the third floor of the airport. It serves a large variety of moderately priced Thai and Western food. For those who do not have time to sit down for a meal, there is a variety of snack bars and cafés located throughout the airport.
Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities

There are four bureaux de change facilities in the Arrivals Hall situated near to the exits as well as one counter located near to the exits in the Departures Hall. There is also a post and telegraph office situated to the right of the Departures Hall as you enter. Next to the post office is a mobile phone shop which does rentals and there are public telephones scattered throughout the airport.
Disabled Facilities

Phuket International Airport has all the disabled facilities one would expect of a small international airport. These include specially adapted toilets, telephones and lifts, and there are also especially reserved parking spaces situated close to the terminal. Airlines can supply disabled passengers with wheelchairs and extra assistance if they are notified in advance.
